Snuck into the office for a bit today to wrap some things up before zooming off to Indy again to pat my Sissy's growing bump (my nephew, I should say).. I can't wait to see her!!

Hooray for FRIDAY!! There is an event at work today, although I think I will probably just pop down for a second to make an appearance, and stick close to my office the rest of the day... I am so happy that it is Friday! (this dress is light blue - doesn't show well here, but I was too rushed to take more than one pic)

Tomorrow is Mother's Day - so Daddy and I are beating the rush and talking Mommy (who I grew up calling "Maude" - we don't really remember why) to lunch today and then we are just going to hang out and spend the afternoon together. YAY MOMMY!!

5.8.09 - Work, Event, HH

I just have to get through a really long day at work, our Center's annual board meeting, and come 6pm I will be pool side at a friends' place for "Happy Hour at Home" with the neighborhood gang... (notice the flats - suitable for the long day still ahead)

The office is hot, no one wants to be here, but no one wants to be anyplace else either, in a way, I think...

5.6.09 - Unthinkable

It's late... I'm sitting up in my cozy security blanket of a sweatshirt because I can't make my mind stop. A coworker - a young, engaging, smart, generous, funny, fabulous man - died today.
And there are a lot more questions than answers... We all have rituals we turn to when we need comfort, and different "uniforms" for different situations. Somehow a big soft sweatshirt with my school's logo on it was what I needed to put on. Warmth and a sense of community, perhaps.

Can we talk about how happy I am about THIS dress above? It is a J Crew that still had original tags on it, and I grabbed it for $8.00 at Good Will. Can you say "Keri's summer wedding uniform has been found!?" Yes, I know the black socks kind of distract, but I wanted to take a pic AND have warm feet!!

Now, here is the other dress I got - an "everyday" kind of thing and I thought it looked adorable on the hanger... but now I am not so sure about it. My boobs seem to be at my waist or something...
You tell me? Do I just need jazzy accesories, or does it qualify for "return immediately" status? (no, I didn't iron it.. if I am taking it back, I am not pressing it for someone else!)
