12.18.09 - Work, Play, etc..

I honestly just put this up so you can see how bad my room is! :( Now I have like a whole extra bed set crammed in there. Impossible to take good pics of my outfit. (eggplant long cardi, skinny jeans, brown boots, crusty look.)

Grrrr....

At least we get the afternoon off today for holiday merriement.

12.17.09 - Work, Mess...

Sigh... I lost my dressing room again... this time to our Master Bedroom Set which is going to be put on Craigslist soon since our new one arrived today (I think)... here is the mirror that matches our old set - as you can see, it (along with all the other pieces of the set) is now crammed into the guest room, jacking up my "getting ready" area.
Booo.
Also, I loved this skirt all freaking summer long.. now - not so much. Go figure.

12.16.09 -Work, Cocktails

Um, that is actually me - not (as it looks like) Suzanne Sommers' fat, nerdy, can't-QUITE -pull-it-all-together sister from Three's Company.
WTF? I have a Happy Hour tonight that I just DO NOT see myself wearing this for.. What up, dumpy!?

12.15.09 - Work

Does my hair look stupid? My bangs are growing out and sometimes it is annoying to have them flapping against my face and poking me in the eyes.

Also, can I do a product rave that will get me widely laughed at (and possibly ridiculed since so many folks think that shopping there HAS TO BE a belief statement or whatever).

Anyway, these jeans? They are Baby Phat for Walmart.. Serious. And I don't care what ANYONE says about it, these are the most flattering, well-fitting jeans I have possibly ever had on my body. I have NEVER felt better about myself in jeans, and that includes the summer I had the mysterious bacteria and couldn't eat anything and was a size double zero! NEVER. I am going back to horde more. I am in love with them.

Don't judge me - these jeans are freaking awesome.

12.10.09 - Work, craft time fun

Seriously. I have just been lazy about lighting lately.. sorry - but it is a total case of SBDD (Same Boots, Different Day) with these beauties anyway:
After work tonight I get to go help make pretty award certificates to be used as part of the cookie exchange I am going to this weekend! I love the holiday season, you can go to a fabulous cocktail party one night, and a few days later you are exchanging cookies and snuggling babies while drinking cocoa... So many wonderful ways to celebrate the season with people you love!

So the high temp today is going to be 8 degrees.. I have on tall boots, and I basically go from parking garage to parking garage without being ever "outside" (except in my car). Still, my legs are cold today!

11.26.09 - Thanksgiving

Product RAVE - InStyler

I picked up an InStyler yesterday at Bed Bath and Beyond (thank you, 20% off coupon that expired years ago!) and I believe that this is the beginning of a beea-utiful friendship!
And this is how much I love it... so much I am willing to post my janky "before" photo so that you can see the magic it worked for me. Before:
YIKES -THAT WAS SCARY! And after:

Purdy, Purdy hair. It actually did what it says it will on the crazy infomercial! It made my hair shiny and straight without crushing it. It didn't kink or crease or any of that other weird stuff that flat irons do, it didn't yank my hair like my big curling iron does. I even TRIED to get it to make funny bends or marks in my hair - and nope! Still came out fine.

It is going to take me a while to get some speed working with this, but that would be true of any new tool, I suppose. But the results are just too good to ever go back... I am a changed woman. Everything else is going into the storage unit downstairs - this sucker is all I need for great hair now.

I can't wait to try curling with it, and also adding volume - but it was my first day using it, so I figured "baby steps" right?

Great tool -serious - just fab.

I couldn't take my eyes off of my cute little ball of Potter-pie fluff long enough to get a good pic, I guess. Still stuck on my " belted jeans and a girly blouse" look, evidently.

Incidently, I do love my longer hair, but it gets caught in EVERYTHING. And when it is wet, it sticks to EVERYTHING.

Um, does this outfit look like the '80s threw up on me? Because I have been-there-done-that and really don't want to travel too far back down that road again... This looks like I am on pretty thin ice, in my opinion.

11.10.09 - Work, HH, I give up..

Oh For Gosh Sakes, I give up...

This is a cute outfit and the morning shadows on the patio of The TreeHouse just don't do it justice.. I have on my eggplant skirt from this post, my grey sparkely top from this post, and black tights, flats, and cardi... Potter's tush behind me is making me look deformed in this picture, and the shadow kind of makes it look like I don't have anything on my bottom half...the whole thing is a photography FAIL.

I have been informed that I will not get my dressing room mirror (or good access to my closet for that matter) until Friday night! ARGGGGGGG! Good thing that I have happy hour this evening - I could go for some drinks and giggling!

11.8.09 - Brunch

Brunch with girlfriends is possibly my favorite of all possible weekend activities... I love a lazy late-morning meal shared while sipping (ok, slugging) Mimsies and sharing stories of the week that's passed.
AND - the reason you are seeing me playing with my camera's self-timer for the first time EVAH, is because my dressing room is once again a construction zone while The Hub has new closet floors installed (you see the level of the obsession now? Scary.) So no mirror for me. And VERY limited access to my clothes. :(
